Tyrell Malacia arrives at Man Utd training ground to seal £13m transfer and become first signing of Ten Hag’s revolution

Tyrell Malacia has been spotted arriving at Carrington to finalise his move to Manchester United.

The 22-year-old Feyenoord defender jetted into the North West on Sunday and went through the first stages of his medical.

Now Tyrell Malacia has been spotted in the back seat of a VW van heading into the club’s training ground to put the finishing touches to his transfer.

And the Dutch international is just hours away from becoming Erik ten Hag’s first signing at Old Trafford.

The deal will cost the Red Devils an initial £13 million.

United swooped for Tyrell Malacia last week just when he looked destined to join French side Lyon.

Initially he is likely to provide competition for Luke Shaw – putting a big question mark over the future of Alex Telles.

The Brazilian has indicated he will look for a move – possibly on loan – with former club Porto among the options.

United would also listen to offers for youngster Brandon Williams, who spent last season on loan at Norwich.

United hope their first signing will quickly be followed by more and they hope to pip Arsenal to the signature of Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez.

Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong remains the highest profile target and a move remains on course – despite the Spanish club claiming at the weekend that he will stay.

Malacia still has another two years at the Eredivisie outfit and has been a regular in the starting XI for the past two campaigns.

But Ten Hag knows him well from his time in charge of Ajax and was desperate to bring him to England with him.

United have agreed a £56.2million fee with Barca, with Ten Hag convincing De Jong to make the move.

The former Ajax boss has reportedly told the midfielder that he will be central to his plans, “conducting his orchestra”.

Barca have signed midfielder Franck Kessie from AC Milan, but still want to recruit another replacement for De Jong.
