RYLAN Clark today posed topless to reveal his new chest tattoo, which has a special meaning. The TV star, 33, revealed he was taking some much-needed R&R after his exhausting book tour, and was treating himself to a face pack.

Rylan has been on the road all month promoting his autobiography called TEN, which is about his rise to fame.

So today the in demand star – who shot to fame on X Factor – took time out and put a face mask on.

In the picture, a shirtless Rylan pokes fun at himself, writing, “Never looked better.”

But it was his rarely-seen chest tattoo that really got fans talking.

And we can reveal the special meaning behind the inking.

The tattoo spells out a date in Roman numerals, ‘MCMLXXXVIIII’ – 1988, which is Rylan’s birth year.

The TV and radio star usually keeps it covered up.

The only other time he revealed it, was in a picture with fellow Radio 2 star Scott Mills, ahead of this year’s Eurovision.

Meanwhile, Rylan recently admitted he was forced to erase parts of his tell-all book after a “legal threat”.

The TV presenter ran into trouble when he refused to show lawyers old messages from his ex-husband that he’d quoted in Ten: The Decade That Changed My Future.

Instead, he chose not to reveal the most painful details from his failed marriage, which left him battling with his mental health last year.

Appearing on The One Show, Rylan said: “It was really difficult writing what I had to write and revisiting a time that I never thought would be part of my life.

“That chapter was really difficult. There was a chapter I wrote that was the angry chapter, the chapter that had nothing in and the chapter that was enough but not enough as real as it could be.

“Then there’s the chapter that ended up in the book which is an amalgamation of all three.”

He went on: “There were things I was going to put in the book that I didn’t from a legal point of view. Not that it was anything salacious or anything like that. I’d written something like ‘I’d received a text, which said ‘x, y and z’.
