LEICESTER have banned a number of birthday message announcements amid calls for manager Brendan Rodgers to be sacked.
The Foxes boss, 49, is coming under fire for his team’s recent performances, with just four points from their opening nine games seeing them rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table.
It came after one social media user said: “If anyone is going to the Palace game on Saturday, I’ve just paid for a birthday scoreboard announcement for Zak Rodgers.
“If anyone is likely to be in their seat 30 mins before KO, I’d love a photo of it.”
Leicester refused to comment when approached by SunSport about the matter.
Rodgers picked up a first Premier League win of the season last Monday with a convincing 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest.
But five days later they threw away a first half lead to lose 2-1 at Bournemouth.
Yet despite a seventh league defeat in nine matches, Rodgers insisted after the match that he remains calm about the situation.
He said: “It’s not about pressure. I know if you’re in the bottom three, there will always be pressure – I understand that.
“For me though, it’s about focusing on the process of getting the results.
“Ultimately we lost this game but we’ve got two home games and we really need to focus on them.”
Rodgers guided Leicester to successive fifth place finishes in the 2019/20 and 2020/21 Premier League campaigns.
He also lifted the FA Cup with the Foxes last year – the first time the club have won the trophy in their history.
Last season, Leicester endured a more indifferent term but still managed an eighth place finish in the Prem.
