Jamie Carragher Was Trolled So Badly By Laura Woods, He Couldn’t Help But Laugh

Laura Woods reminded Jamie Carragher he’d been unsuccessful in winning a Premier League title and he couldn’t help but laugh.

Carragher was asked about Liverpool potentially chasing down Premier League leaders Manchester City following their 1-1 draw with Southampton on Saturday.

The Reds started the day 12 points behind their rivals ahead of their clash with Crystal Palace.

Sky Sports presenter Woods said to Carragher: “You’ve been in a position before where you’re chasing a title. Unsuccessfully albeit…”

Former Liverpool defender Carragher quickly replied, “Thanks,” before the pair broke down in a fit of laughter.

Fans noticed Woods’ little joke at Carra’s expense and they were loving it on social media.

One commented: “Woodsy with the casual burn, love it.”

Another added: “The way Laura Woods shoehorns in a slam dunk on Jamie Carragher in a perfectly reasonable question here is absolutely superb.”

While someone put: “Laura Woods has absolutely ruined Carragher here.”

Sky are just next level when it comes to pundits and presenters aren’t they?

Carragher was part of a number of title charges during his 17 year stint at Anfield, most famously in 2013-2014.

Liverpool currently lead Palace 2-0 and started brightly, opening the scoring through Virgil van Dijk inside eight minutes.

Van Dijk rose high to meet Andrew Robertson’s corner and head past Vincente Guaita.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored his second in as many games just past the half hour mark, again from a Robertson cross.

Palace looked on the ropes but had chances towards the end of the half, with Michael Olise forcing a save from Alisson.

Jean-Philippe Mateta then rounded Alisson and got a shot off, only for the Brazilian to make a vital touch and keep it out.

Liverpool are still without Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, who are away for the Africa Cup of Nations.
