Barclays bank to close 10 more branches with 142 shutting forever in 2022 – is yours on the list?

B

BARCLAYS is set to shut a further ten branches this year in the latest round of closures revealed by the bank.

It brings the total number of sites disappearing this year to 142 across the country.

The banking giant also announced 15 branch closures less than two months ago.

A Barclays spokesman said it the closures “reflect the way that our customers are increasingly choosing to do their banking.”

The Barclays spokesman added: “We will always give twelve weeks’ notice of any branch closures, explaining the rationale for the decision, as well as highlighting alternative branches and ways to bank.

“This includes working with the local community to find different, more flexible ways for our colleagues to continue to provide local banking support, such as through pop-up presences.”

Here is the list of ten branches set to close later this year:

  • Barry, Wales, CF63 4SU, November 2, 2022

Barclays said more customers are now choosing to do their banking online and on apps, rather than visiting in person.

But Barclays is not the only bank to tell customers to expect more closures, with Lloyds, HSBC and Halifax among those to vanish from many high streets.
